Forever

I thought it had been much longer since I had posted something new, but I realized today it has only been a month.  However, we've had a very busy month!  Our family went to Santa Fe, NM, to visit Dustin's sister and her family.  On our way down we stopped for a night in Moab, UT, and hiked around in Arches National Park for an afternoon.  It was so nice to get out of cold Cache Valley for a while and spend some time outdoors.  We were able to spend a lot of time outside in Santa Fe as well.  It was so fun visiting Missy, Jeff, and Liam.  Emma had a ball having a little pal to play with for a few days!  While we were there, Missy and Jeff took us to a small little dive, called the Bobcat Bite.  It's green chile hamburger has won several awards and been recognized by several national newspapers and magazines.  Dustin was very skeptical at first. (After our last trip to the state, he thought it was crazy that green chile could be found everywhere you went in NM.)  The hamburger was delicious and Dustin said his life was forever changed...he's never going to be able to appreciate another hamburger again :)

While we were gone I received the news that my Grandma Miller was passing away.  Though I had been so busy preparing for our trip, I just kept on having the thought that I needed to go visit my Grandma before we left, even though we were only going to be gone for a few days.  President Uchtdorf's talk he gave last conference about living with no regrets kept popping into my mind.  I finally convinced myself that it was more important to go visit my Grandma than to get the last little bit of cleaning done or treats made before our trip.  I'm so grateful I listened to the promptings of the Spirit! Emma and I were able to have a nice visit with her just a few days before she passed.  Though it's hard to say goodbye to those we love, it is so comforting knowing that because of the atonement of our Savior, we can be with our loved ones again.  My Grandma had lived a wonderful and long life and it was definitely her time to return home.  It was so nice to be with my own family and see extended family members during this time.  I'm so grateful for the family I have been blessed with!

Emma has so much hair!  This was what it looked like after sleeping with her ponytail in... I thought she looked like a rooster!

When we let Emma out of the hiking backpack she flattened herself out on the red rock and proceeded to lick it!  It was hilarious!  Are we bad parents for letting her? :)

This is in Madrid, NM, where part of the movie, Wild Hogs, was filmed.  This is at the diner where they ate and fought.

Towards the end of the viewing I let Emma crawl around the entryway of the funeral home... it looked clean enough.  Apparently, looks are deceiving!!
