The Last Little While

Here are some pictures showing what we've been up to the last month or so.  We don't necessarily lead very exciting lives, but we're happy!

Just eating some black beans!

A three-generations photo.  Gotta love Emma's hair!  I'm pretty sure Dustin had been fluffing it not long before this picture was taken!

We hiked up to the Wind Caves with some of my cousins...

Emma showing us her fishy faces... pretty impressive!

I did a color run with some of my cousins.  We had fun - and believe it or not, all of the color washed out of my clothes!

Fishing out at Newton Dam.  Emma wasn't afraid to touch the fish.  She kept trying to walk into the water and when she wasn't doing that she spent her time finding rocks to chew on.

I'm Going There Someday...

I took Emma to the temple a couple of weeks ago to try and get some cute pictures of her with all of the beautiful tulips that were on the grounds.  An active 1 year old made this a challenge!  I wasn't as successful as I'd hoped to be, but I think we still came away with some decent ones.  Maybe next year we can try again!

Happy Happy Birthday!

Emma's birthday was pretty low key.  We decided we wanted to keep it simple and just enjoy the day with her.  I tried to devote the entire day to Emma and not worry about anything else.  I was a little bummed because it was a pretty chilly day, so we weren't able to spend much time outside, which she LOVES.  We had taco salad for her birthday dinner because they contain some of her favorites - beans and olives!  She opened her presents, which included a tunnel that she thought was pretty fun.  Then we capped off the night by letting her smash a cake.  Both grandmas were able to join us for that part via Skype.  All in all it was a great day!

Month by Month

I can't believe our sweet little Emma is already one!  It was a wonderful year!  I have loved seeing how she has changed and I love watching her learn new things and discover the world around her.  She has been such a blessing to our family.  Each day brings new adventures.  We love you Emma!
