More Summer Fun!
July flew right on by, and now we find ourselves in the middle of August! Summer is always full of fun and always seems to go by so quickly! Dustin, Emma, and I were able to go sailing with the Young Men and Young Women on their annual sailing activity. Emma enjoyed her first parade as a mobile toddler - her favorite thing about it was picking up the candy and throwing it back on the road! My parents came to Utah the end of July and spent some time with us here. Then Emma and I drove with them to Colorado to spend some time with Millie and her family before Parker's baby blessing. Dustin joined us that weekend. Now we are back and before we know it summer will be turning to fall... and honestly, I am so excited!!

4th of July Festivities
It's already July...and it started out with a bang - literally! (Sorry for being cheesy, but I couldn't help it!) We enjoyed our 4th of July by participating in some of our traditional activities as well as throwing in a few new things.
July 3rd were the stadium fireworks. We met the Hyde Parkers at a nearby church and ball field where we ate dinner, played games, munched on snacks, and mostly chased Emma around. I was curious how Emma would react to the fireworks this year. Turns out it takes a lot to impress her :) She enjoyed watching the first few that went off - even clapped for them - and then decided that was enough and she could resume her wandering.
July 4th we headed to Minnetonka Cave with Dustin's sister and her kids. They give tours through the cave, which was a great escape from the hot temps we've been experiencing! We couldn't leave Bear Lake without a stop at LeBeau's for a shake :) That evening Dustin made fried chicken, dutch oven potatoes, and the fixin's for our dinner. Then we all headed out to Hyrum to watch their firework show. It's always exciting, as you never know how many will end up exploding on the ground :) The best part was just spending time with family!

The Last Little While
Here are some pictures showing what we've been up to the last month or so. We don't necessarily lead very exciting lives, but we're happy!
A three-generations photo. Gotta love Emma's hair! I'm pretty sure Dustin had been fluffing it not long before this picture was taken!
We hiked up to the Wind Caves with some of my cousins...
Emma showing us her fishy faces... pretty impressive!
I did a color run with some of my cousins. We had fun - and believe it or not, all of the color washed out of my clothes!
Fishing out at Newton Dam. Emma wasn't afraid to touch the fish. She kept trying to walk into the water and when she wasn't doing that she spent her time finding rocks to chew on.
Just eating some black beans! |

I'm Going There Someday...
I took Emma to the temple a couple of weeks ago to try and get some cute pictures of her with all of the beautiful tulips that were on the grounds. An active 1 year old made this a challenge! I wasn't as successful as I'd hoped to be, but I think we still came away with some decent ones. Maybe next year we can try again!
